Feeling Stuck, Bored, Uninspired, Restless, Frustrated For No Reason? Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone, It'S Fun

If you are an adult, whether you realize it or not, you have created an invisible bubble around yourself called the comfort zone. We all do. Your comfort zone includes all your activities and preferences, the lifestyle you have created for yourself. It is also linked to your self-concept, what you believe are your strengths and weaknesses, your talents and lacks, your abilities and limitations.

We are all creatures of habit, and we all love order and stability in our lives. We all have the need to make our lives as predictable as possible, and create a sense of regularity, structure, and smooth functioning. We do not like to experience chaos in our lives, nor do we enjoy taking on extreme challenges that threaten our sense of calm and over-stress us. Our personal bubble, our comfort zone takes care of all that, by playing a selective, organizing and protective role.

In order to satisfy the above-mentioned needs, and in connection to our self-concept, we include in our personal bubble our professional or career choices, our hobbies, the kind of friends or people we like to hang out with, our leisure activities, even such mundane things as the kinds of products we buy, or the kinds of meals we prefer.

Soon enough, though, order, stability, regularity, predictability, and structure turn into routine, sameness, rigidity and a sense of constriction and under-stimulation. The very bubble that we ourselves constructed begins to choke us, but often we don't realize the reason why we feel so stifled in our lives. This is when our comfort zone is no longer working for us. This is when we need to step out of it and create new experiences for ourselves.

So, if you are feeling stuck, stifled, bored, restless and can't figure out what's the matter with you, it's quite possible that you feel the need for change and more challenge and variety in your life and you need to step out of your comfort zone.

To create this sense of change and variety without threatening to disturb your other needs of stability, order, etc., at least in the beginning, you don't have to take any BIG steps that might intimidate you.

For example, say you you have been faithfully attending the same aerobics class for the past 3-4 years (because you have buddies in that group, because it fits nicely in your schedule, because you like the trainer, etc) but lately you feel just a little less eager and motivated to go to your class. This is a signal that you need to step out of your comfort zone and try something else, like Pilates, or Yoga. I'm sure that as you read this suggestion a lot of "yes, buts" are at the tip of your tongue..Well, that's the problem, the comfort zone is resistant to change, so you have to override it. You have to break your bubble and step out of it to create variety in your life, to become more stimulated and feel more alive.

If you examine your daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly schedule and habits carefully you will notice that there are things that you ALWAYS do the SAME way. You always go to the movies on Sunday. You always cook roast on Saturday. You always take the same route to work. You always shop at the same supermarket, you always buy the same brand of tea, you always drink coffee in the morning. Sure, these are all elements of your comfort zone, but now they are causing you discomfort!

A good way to encourage yourself to step out of your comfort zone, is to tell yourself that you will do this different thing just for today, just to see how it feels, and then, if you don't like it, you can go back to your comfortable routine. That way you can appease that part of you that is resistant to and afraid of change. But once you summon enough daring and playfulness in your attitude, you will discover the immense benefits of stepping out of your comfort zone.

So how can you go about exploring what's outside your comfort zone? What action steps can you take?

Begin by making the conscious decision to take control of the situation with a positive attitude. Make an inventory of activities that lately you have been doing with less enthusiasm, or have begun to bore you.

Find ways to make adjustments to these activities or exchange them completely for other activities you might like to try (Bored with your sketching class? Try water-painting. Sick and tired of ceramics? Try photography.)

Think of hobbies and interests that you have always wanted to take up but you were either too afraid, or too busy, or just put off pursuing and do so now. (It's not too late to learn how to ride a bicycle! You're not too old to learn a foreign language! You're not too stupid to learn how to water-ski!)

Make small, painless alterations in your daily schedule, in your small everyday choices, (like listening to a different radio station on your way to work, or buying different laundry soap next time you shop).

Consider changing your haircut, your hairstyle, your aftershave, your style of dressing, the way you usually combine and match your clothes, try new colors, new materials.

How long has it been since you took a look at your home environment, is it about time to rearrange the furniture in a different way? Add some new stuff? Add some dash and color to your living-room?

Once you begin to focus on change and experimentation, you will begin to make more changes and become more daring to tackle other areas of your life that have become stale and dull. Once you make the conscious effort to step out of your comfort zone, you will experience such joy, excitement and elation that you will become more and more playful and adventurous, and before you know it you can have a brand new life. A brand new, refreshing and invigorating comfort zone.

It's a promise!

Inventor unveils $7,000 talking sex robot

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) -- To some men, she might seem like the perfect woman: She's a willowy 5 feet 7 and 120 pounds. She'll chat with you endlessly about your interests. And she'll have sex whenever you please -- as long as her battery doesn't run out.

Meet Roxxxy, who may be the world's most sophisticated talking female sex robot. For $7,000, she's all yours.

"She doesn't vacuum or cook, but she does almost everything else," said her inventor, Douglas Hines, who unveiled Roxxxy last month at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lifelike dolls, artificial sex organs and sex-chat phone lines have been keeping the lonely company for decades. But Roxxxy takes virtual companionship to a new level.

Powered by a computer under her soft silicone "skin," she employs voice-recognition and speech-synthesis software to answer questions and carry on conversations. She even comes loaded with five distinct "personalities," from Frigid Farrah to Wild Wendy, that can be programmed to suit customers' preferences.

"There's a tremendous need for this kind of product," said Hines, a computer scientist and former Bell Labs engineer.

Roxxxy won't be available for delivery for several months, but Hines is taking pre-orders through his Web site, TrueCompanion.com, where thousands of men have signed up.

"They're like, 'I can't wait to meet her,' " Hines said. "It's almost like the anticipation of a first date."

Women have inquired about ordering a sex robot, too. Hines says a female sex therapist even contacted him about buying one for her patients.

Roxxxy has been like catnip to talk-show hosts since her debut at AEE, the largest porn-industry convention in the country. In a recent monologue, Jay Leno expressed amazement that a sex robot could carry on lifelike conversations and express realistic emotions.

"Luckily, guys," he joked, "there's a button that turns that off."

Curious conventioneers packed Hines' AEE booth last month in Las Vegas, asking questions and stroking Roxxxy's skin as she sat on a couch in a black negligee.

"Roxxxy generated a lot of buzz at AEE," said Grace Lee, spokeswoman for the porn-industry convention. "The prevailing sentiment of everyone I talked to about Roxxxy is 'version 1.0,' but people were fascinated by the concept, and it caused them to rethink the possibilities of 'sex toys.' "

Hines, a self-professed happily married man from Lincoln Park, New Jersey, says he spent more than three years developing the robot after trying to find a marketable application for his artificial-intelligence technology.

Roxxxy's body is made from hypoallergenic silicone -- the kind of stuff in prosthetic limbs -- molded over a rigid skeleton. She cannot move on her own but can be contorted into almost any natural position. To create her shape, a female model spent a week posing for a series of molds.

The robot runs on a self-contained battery that lasts about three hours on one charge, Hines says. Customers can recharge Roxxxy with an electrical cord that plugs into her back.

A motor in her chest pumps heated air through a tube that winds through the robot's body, which Hines says keeps her warm to the touch. Roxxxy also has sensors in her hands and genital areas -- yes, she is anatomically correct -- that will trigger vocal responses from her when touched. She even shudders to simulate orgasm.

When someone speaks to Roxxxy, her computer converts the words to text and then uses pattern-recognition software to match them against a database containing hundreds of appropriate responses. The robot then answers aloud -- her prerecorded "voice" is supplied by an unnamed radio host -- through a loudspeaker hidden under her wig.

"Everything you say to her is processed. It's very near real time, almost without delay," Hines said of the dynamics of human-Roxxxy conversation. "To make it as realistic as possible, she has different dialogue at different times. She talks in her sleep. She even snores." (The snoring feature can be turned off, he says.)

Roxxxy understands and speaks only English for now, but Hines' True Companion company is developing Japanese and Spanish versions. For an extra fee, he'll also record customizable dialogue and phrases for each client, which means Roxxxy could talk to you about NASCAR, say, or the intricacies of politics in the Middle East.

Hines believes that Roxxxy is a step above other love dolls -- the similar but mute RealDoll costs about $5,500 -- because her conversational abilities provide something close to emotional companionship. His customer base? Shy, awkward or older men who "have trouble meeting girls," he says.

In an industry known for pushing the technological envelope, observers are curious about how Roxxxy will fare in the marketplace.

"Is this a viable product? Yes," said Sherri Shaulis, an editor at Adult Video News, a trade magazine for the pornographic industry. "There's a market for it. Granted, it's a very small market."

Maybe not. TrueCompanion claims that more than 4,000 men have placed pre-orders for Roxxxy robots, and another 20,000 or so have requested information about the product. TrueCompanion also is developing a male sex robot, named Rocky.

"There's really nothing like this on the market," said Hines, who speaks of his unique creation with what seems like genuine affection. "Whenever she's out in public, everyone wants to talk to her and pose for pictures. It's so cute."

No love lost for 'Valentine's Day'

(CNN) -- When John Carpenter decided to make a horror movie set at Halloween, he probably had some notion that it would goose up the story and provide a neat gimmick for the marketing guys. But it was his idea, not theirs. You couldn't say the same for the next dozen movies in the series.

Lately Hollywood has become fixated on the Christmas movie -- with more TV screenings, more sales and more rentals each and every year, it's the seasonal tie-in that just keeps on giving. So it was only a matter of time before someone had the bright idea of pinning a film to the 14th of February. Why should Hallmark and Teleflora get all the action?

With "Pretty Woman" director Garry Marshall shepherding an all-star cast that includes Jessicas Alba and Biel, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah, Taylor Swift and (oh yeah) Julia Roberts -- not forgetting Ashton Kutcher and a bunch of other guys -- "Valentine's Day" might be considered the ultimate date movie. That's the dream.

The reality is forgettable, something like a Robert Altman movie without the calories, but loaded with sweetener. Or "Love Actually" with better dental work.

The smiles may be brighter, but screenwriter Katherine Fugate doesn't have the shamelessly sentimental streak that makes Richard Curtis such an irresistible proposition for some, or his knack for stacking up sequences of giddy farcical embarrassment.

It would be harsh to describe "Valentine's Day" as a pale imitation of "Love Actually" -- I disliked it less, actually -- but there's nothing remotely as funny as Bill Nighy's desperate pop crooner here, nor anything as poignant as Emma Thompson's scenes with philandering husband Alan Rickman.

Marshall does match Curtis in one respect: his failure to juggle a dozen romantic plot-lets over the course of a single day that goes through more time-zones than seems feasible in the circumstances.

The winner in this lottery is Ashton Kutcher's florist, appropriately named Reed, who begins the movie proposing to Jessica Alba and whose business provides a linchpin for several subsidiary couples. Jennifer Garner's infatuated schoolteacher also benefits from a developed romantic throughline (predictable as it may be), though she's also an actress capable of shading a formulaic scene with surprising emotional nuance. She's also a mean hand with a baseball bat.

Indeed, one way of approaching this motley box of candies would be to play the role of Simon Cowell judging all the acting idols. Garner goes through to the next round. So do Bradley Cooper and Julia Roberts, charming in a trifle about two passengers on a long-haul flight.

Not so sure about Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel, though; the former even comments on his own token status ("I'm the chocolate") as a TV journalist looking for Valentine's human interest stories, while Biel overdoes it as a neurotic agent who hosts an annual "I Hate Valentine's Day" party. Topher Grace makes minimal headway in a lousy part, wondering if he should get hung up about Anne Hathaway's phone sex entertainer (a maybe).

Eric Dane's single NFL star makes the cut. Emma Roberts, as a teen planning on having sex for the first time during lunch break? I don't think so.

You begin to grasp how the movie resembles an obstacle course, with each famous face a hurdle on the way to the fade-out -- and why it feels too long by about ... a day.

Marshall does capture some sense of Los Angeles as a city, though the overwhelmingly white-bread cast hardly suggests a "Crash"-like diversity (his regular Hector Elizondo notwithstanding). But the film doesn't have time or space to press any of its stories beyond the clichés -- or the desire, for that matter.

It's too bland to get upset about, but the best use for "Valentine's Day" I can think of requires home viewing: it's a natural for a drinking game. Take a slug every time any character refers to the date. You'll be pie-eyed before Kutcher gets dumped.

"Valentine's Day" is rated PG-13 and runs 117 minutes.

"Ini memang resiko. Tapi kalau ada berita nggak benar kasihan sama orang tua," jelas Pasha 'Ungu', saat ditemui usai mengisi acara Playlist, di Studio Penta, Batusari, Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta Barat, Kamis (25/6) malam.

Pasha pun terlihat terburu-buru. Penjagaan ketat beberapa pengawal, membuat wartawan agak sulit bertanya banyak kepadanya.

Namun Pasha masih mau berucap. Ia bilang pria yang ada dalam video tersebut bukan dirinya.

"Jujur, itu berita nggak benar, mudahan-mudahan nggak benar. Itu bukan gue," pungkasnya.

Usai memberikan pernyataannya, Pasha langsung pergi meninggalkan media dan infotainmen dengan Toyota kijang hitam B 2976 QN. Tidak dengan kendaraan sebelumnya, Toyota Celica B 8515 II.

Semburan Lumpur Mirip Lapindo Terjadi di Serang

SERANG - Semburan lumpur menyerupai lumpur Lapindo di Sidoarjo, Jawa Timur terjadi di Serang, Banten. Lumpur bercampur pasir dan berbau menyengat itu menyembur setinggi 10 meter.

Peristiwa itu terjadi di Kampung Astana, Desa Walikukung, Kecamatan Carenang, Serang, Banten. Bermula saat seorang tukang bor, Sabtu (20/6/2009) dini hari, memompa sumur untuk kemudian dijadikan pusat air bersih di sebuah pusat kesehatan desa (puskesdes).

Saat sedang memompa, tiba-tiba saja lumpur bercampur pasir menyembur dari dalam tanah. Tak hanya itu, menurut warga setempat yang langsung berkerumun di sekitar semburan, lumpur itu juga mengeluarkan bau yang menyengat.

Akibat semburan lumpur tersebut, bagian atap puskesdes yang berada tak jauh dari lokasi lumpur hancur. Untuk menghindari hal yang lebih fatal, pembangunan puskesdes pun terpaksa dihentikan untuk sementara waktu.

Penghasilan yang lebih ini diinvestasikan kedalam asset (beli saham yang menghasilkan deviden, rumah kost kost-an, ruko yang dikontrakkan, Mall yang disewakan, sarang walet, usaha-usaha yang menghasilkan, dll). Sedemikian sehingga penghasilan mereka bertambah besar. Dan ketika penghasilan mereka bertambah besar lagi, mereka investasikan lagi ke dalam asset tersebut diatas, sehingga semakin kaya dan semakin kaya lagi.

Kenapa orang menengah bergumul terus secara financial? Ketika orang menengah penghasilannya bertambah besar maka dia mencicil rumah yang lebih besar, mobil yang lebih besar, handphone yang lebih canggih, komputer yang lebih modern, televisi yang lebih besar, audio yang lebih canggih dan banyak sekali uang untuk kewajiban sehingga masuk kedalam pengeluaran. Orang menengah ini bisa memiliki rumah yang besar, mobil yang besar tapi tidak mempunyai uang yang bekerja untuk dia. Dan seumur hidupnya menjadi budak uang karena membayar cicilan semakin besar seumur hidupnya.
Kenapa orang miskin bablas miskin ?
Orang miskin tidak perduli seberapa besar pun penghasilannya semua akan masuk ke pengeluaran.

Orang miskin begitu penghasilannya bertambah besar mereka beli TV yang besar, beli jamnya yang mahal, beli hp yang lebih baru, beli baju mahal, makan di restoran mewah, ikut keanggotaan fitness, ikut asuransi yang tidak perlu, dll.

Granville Stephen Waiters (born January 8, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio) is a retired American professional basketball player.

At 6 ft 11 in (2.11 m) and 225 lb (102 kg), Waiters played center for Ohio State University's men's basketball team and was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the 1983 NBA Draft. The Blazers sold their draft rights to the Indiana Pacers, and Waiters spent his first two seasons in Indiana. He then played for the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls until leaving the NBA for Europe in 1988. Waiters averaged 2.2 points and 2.4 rebounds over the course of his NBA career.
